Timing Belts are necessary to keep your engine running. However, over time, the material of the belts deteriorate and they stretch or become worn. For this reason, timing belts must be regularly replaced and are a vital component of your vehicle’s maintenance.
Timing Belts are due for replacement at different intervals depending on your vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations. Please check your owners manual for the exact time or mileage. Typically, timing belts should be changed every 100,000km – 160,000km or every 5 years.
If you’re not sure whether your vehicle has a timing belt or chain or if you don’t have your owner’s manual handy, call in and we’ll be more than happy to take a look for you.
We recommend that when replacing your timing belt, that you also replace your belt tensioner & water pump too. This typically costs €350 – €500 but may be higher or lower depending on your vehicle. Give us a call or send a message with your vehicle’s registration number and we can provide a quote.
